Fortunately, we have not gathered here today to celebrate obscenity or vulgarity, as many are wont to do today in the name of entertainment. We are not here either to fantasize on the total moral breakdown being experienced in our society today, spluttered upon our psyche from all angles, driven down our consciences through various means, and with impudence smeared upon our faces. I am so glad that we are here today to celebrate humanity, our humanness, the impact of our collective resources on the lives of these little ones gathered here today, one of the least of the brethren. To that end we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who donated their money, time, energy and everything in them to see that this event becomes a success.
Save And Secure the Child Initiative (SASCI), The Campaign Against Child Abuse In Nigeria, a CAC registered NGO, is a group of men and women that have decided to raise an audacious Voice, standing it as a bulwark of defense and a banner of righteousness against the incessant cases of Child Abuse in Nigeria. We are all Volunteers, volunteering to contribute our resources towards seeing that unprivileged children get some succor; that some abused children get a level of justice. We have come together as one Body to entrench a clement environment for as many children as we can reach. Presently, we have physical and online presence in 24 states of the federation so far, including Abuja, but working tirelessly towards reaching the remaining states.
Do you have to understand the lyrics of a music, or the enchanting lines of a poem; its rhythms and rhymes, before you can feel it? Of course not. We do not have to understand the mindset of abusers of children before we can come together to raise a formidable, thunderous Voice in defense of the abused girl or boy child.
